![]() RESEARCH STUDY
IBD Biopsy We are currently enrolling subjects in a study to examine how Inflammatory Bowel disease (IBD) affects the cells in the intestine. The purpose of the study is to examine whether the lining cells in the intestine have been altered because of IBD, and to see whether this plays a role in changes where the lining cells incorrectly allow bacteria and large proteins, etc to pass from the lumen into the wall of the intestine (intestinal permeability). It is believed that intestinal permeability increases with IBD. If you or your child is undergoing a colonoscopy you may be eligible to take part in this study. This study has been approved by the University of British Columbia Children's and Women's Research Ethics Board. For further information please contact: Terry Viczko or Dr Kevan Jacobson 604 875 2345 ext 5312 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
